Cool Diversion Tomorrow
Published Date: September 7th, 2007Growing Hope Gallery Expo Saturday 9/8 from 9am to 3pm
Here’s a Saturday diversion presented tomorrow by Union Mission at the corner of East Broad and East Gwinnett Street.
Of special interest are the participatory events:
- “painting an art car” (hasn’t everyone always wanted to doodle and paint-up a car?)
-
the Generations of Change - My Savannah archive booth.
You are encouraged to draw, write or speak (and be recorded) about your experiences and changes you’ve seen in Savannah. This ongoing project will be included in a larger archive to be housed at the future Growing Hope Gallery & Studio.
This is a free, public event featuring 24 local and regional artists demonstrating their work and offering hands-on arts and craft activities for all ages. Artists will also showcase and sell original art in this indoor/outdoor event. Performances featuring music, dance and spoken word are part of this day of creativity and fun.
For more information on this event, contact Teri Schell at 236.7423 ext. 108 or visit www.unionmission.org
Program Funding has been provided by the City of Savannah’s Department of Cultural Affairs.
