When crime hits home
Published Date: September 2nd, 2007I left the house this morning to head downtown and get some coffee. Imagine my surprise when the scooter wouldn’t start. It wouldn’t even turn over. It was dead. NOTHING!
I mean, it looks like a normal scooter, right?

I lifted up the rubber mat though that is supposed to cover the battery panel keeping it clean and dry. The plastic floor covering lid was unscrewed and obviously shoved into its spot. I grew suspicious.

Here’s a close-up of our violated scooter. She looked so abused sitting there with her panels shifted to one side, her battery clearly missing. She wouldn’t even start. Her lights were dim with the residuals of her initial charge. And then in one moment she flatlined.

Perhaps certain mayoral candidates should worry less bout the encroaching corporate talons from our sister state and start worrying more about the lack of police presence anywhere other than Southside on a weekend night. I doubt the parking lot of Burlington Coat Factory is a hotbed of criminal activity after dark on a Saturday night.

The Savannah Mall parking lot is a hotbed for those kids that want to believe they’re in The Fast and the Furious. I can understand why some police are out there. Nothing more annoying than being out near school at night and nearly being pushed off Abercorn by some retard.
Actually, the whole city could use more police. I’m scared of being downtown at night, alone, after the Jennifer Ross murder.
As for the mayoral race, I don’t know what to think, personally. I guess I’ll just have to wait for them to start campaigning. WSAV has a PDF file listing all the people running for a city office. What got me with that list is that someone has a Utah fax number.
