You got me…

Published Date: August 30th, 2007

Yesterday we were given a trivia question to try and solve today. The question was:

What President of the USA served the shortest term in office and why?

I have to admit that I only know half of this question. I do not know the president although I am pretty certain it was prior to the discovery of penicillin, most antibiotics, and certainly aromatherapy. The president died of pneumonia. I also know that this president gave the shortest or longest (guess I don’t remember) acceptance speech. Anyway…you got me. Thanks for the new trivia! Oh, wait….who is the president?

Wasn’t it William Henry Harrison who contracted pneumonia after giving a two hour inaugural speech? He died like a month later.

You are absolutely correct Scott. I received an email from “Shawn” with information about Harrison and a one day president pro tem. He believes his name was David. Wow, is this urban legend? We need to research this one? I like these trivia questions. Maybe, we could get one on the sidebar from the internet. I will check on it.

I’m a she, first off. If I have an avatar, it would show that I’m a chick. Thanks mom for giving me this name.

Scott, as I left in the comment where imberrydone asked the question, it was William Henry Harrison that had the longest speech and the shortest term, officially. So yes, you are correct. :) His term was for 32 days, I believe.

As for the David guy, he’s David Rice Atchison. Snopes has the information about him. I looked him up AFTER I answered the question. All the stuff I posted last night was off the top of my head.
