Testing your skill
Published Date: August 28th, 2007
For those who like to get out during the week for some “adult” fun but don’t like Friday or Saturday because of the bar crowd, I proudly introduce you to Trivia Tuesdays at Hangfire on Whitaker. Led by Rob Oldham [shown at left] (a local free-lance writer), this game test all levels of knowledge from the ridiculous (Top Box Office Grossing Movie of this Past Weekend) to the downright difficult (The Greek Mythology Character Responsible for Sewing Zeus’ Head Up After He Gave Birth to Athena). There are eight rounds including music, culture, name the face, surprise, and general. You can pick teams (and even come up with a witty team name) and prizes include a pitcher of beers, shots, and a warm round of applause. The game begins at 9:30 and generally lasts until about 11pm. If you’re there though watch out for the Georgia Historical Team. They talk a big talk but usually have to bow out after a few rounds due to libation overload. (poke, poke)
Oh, it is also a pretty smoky joint by about 11pm so beware that you will not be able to wear tonights outfit to work tomorrow without smelling like the local VFW.

i’m sold on trivia tuesdays! it took me back to the days when my family would get together to play board games like trivial pursuit or monopoly. i don’t know if it was just my family, but the same person won all the time (my dad). my mom, sisters and i would be so disgusted with his “i reign supreme” dance. do people do “i won” dances at hang fire?
most definitely planning to be there next week!
