I absolutely agree with his tolerance ‘theory’. I do find it interesting that he speaks about the ‘Flight of the Creative Class’ and he himself is moving to Toronto! That saddens me a bit…
Well, he’s creative, and he’s flying….
He’s flying? What is that supposed to mean? If by flying you mean he is convincing severely hungry creative people to buy into a collective community or a sphere where they can live and dwell without having to deal with things outside of the creative realm then, yes, he is flying. Remember this though, he is flying your our dime!
Uh, no, that’s not what I mean.
It’s a global economy. He can go where he wants to go. That’s his whole point.
My apologies. Yes, we all live in a free country. We can go where we want and make assumptions about any class of people we want.
So I take it you don’t approve of Mr. Florida or his ideas, right? Quit beating around the bush.
Notice how I worked bush and Florida into a sentence that’s not about voting.
Who’s beating around the bush? I don’t like him. I didn’t when he came. I have known of him for over a year or so. That is why I titled the entry “spade a spade….”
Arrgh.
*Why* don’t you like him? Personal? Professional? Philosophical?
Ha!! Well, to say nothing of his other theories, I think he’s right about the tolerant thing. And the gay-as-a-canary-species thing.
