There’s nothing Odd about these Podz

Published Date: June 8th, 2007

Just so you know we do work around here, the blogsavannah team was fortunate enough to lunch with the gals from Oddpodz today. You may remember the initial post in which I called them out on some issues. If not, read here. Now I have been involved with some start-up scenarios in the past and have had my share of conversations with middle-aged, “remember when you booted up in Dos and the font was green”, visionary types so you can imagine my delight at dining across from two lovely ladies as Karen and Jocelyn; the co-founders of Oddpodz. Through the next hour they shared with us a vision of a social network site where creative types could chat, shop, share, and virtually live. I don’t think we need to validate social networks anymore. They are a proven market. However, this sort of niche social networking can be a gamble. I have no doubt that these two women have the ambition, passion, and experience to make a great run of this.

Based in Savannah and firmly recruited by TCCi, they are planning a GUI overhaul in the next few weeks which will serve to introduce their product in all of its Beta glory. Until then, the jury is out on the product itself. However, I think it is safe to say that the business plan is intelligent and well researched. The funding seems to be there. The technology is beginning to flourish. Why do I tell you all this? The readers of blogsavannah can help this company launch by parusing the site, working the site, and sending in constructive criticism or “food for thought”. I know I started my profile today and will spend some time figuring it all out. I encourage you to do the same.

Y’all know who I am.

It’s pErusing, not pArusing, love.

; )

Constructive criticism is good for all of us, and good on the OddPodz ladiez for hooking up with you to get the real deal.

You put a capital letter in the middle of a word? That is a weird spelling. Oh well.

Note: the sentence in the original post should read:

“The readers of blogsavannah can help this company launch by pErusing the site…”
