The lost SCAD site

There have been rumors for years about a lost SCAD site. It had been named scad.net. It was taken down and that URL now redirects to scad.edu. However, after some research and a bit of random typing, we have discovered this site. Check it out. Read it. It has some quality (read: brutal) commentary. Cheers!

“The TRUTH…. shall always come out”

Yeah, I have read the Sinister Designs before. I am very fascinated in the Juan Bertotto story. Keep ‘em coming. Share your stories too, huh? Oh, I am not a SCAD grad so I, unfortunately, don’t have those stories. hahaha. The TRUTH will prevail though.

I read all the information when scad.info was still working. It was really informative. I wish there were more sites about the bad things about SCAD because I have a lot to say in that area….

I went to SCAD 1998-2001. SCAD was doing renovations in Poetter Hall during those years, while students were in classes - no type of ventilation was taken. We walked through clouds of dust while SCAD’s personal contractors did the work. All of my classes were in that building and I spent the other hours working there as well. A reporter from Atlanta was doing research on it during those years however I never heard or read anything from it. Several SCAD professors ended up with Benzine poisoning. One still refuses to work in that building. At least 3-4 of them died quickly from brain tumors. SCAD tried blaming “smoking” as the cause. I know there were more students who had themselves checked out, myself included. I am now having mysterious things go on with my skin cells. I am wondering if anyone who went those years are now seeing “odd” things as well?

I am a former SCAD staff member, and I can tell you that they are very underhanded. Human Resources covers up complaints by employees the way SCAD administration covers up everything else. SCAD has registered about 190 domain names to protect themselves from free speech, including scadsucks.com scad-sucks.com and all variations with .net, .us, .biz, etc. Their Director of Network Services & Advanced Technologies Brad Grant is the one who does the dirty work, as evidenced by the registrant email attached to each of these domains, bgrant@scad.edu. You can email him their to ask him about why they hate free speech, or call him at (912) 525-4030.

I am a freshman here at SCAD, and I have been unnerved by many of the professors here. Some seem like great professors, but are edgy and nervous. I had an english professor that told me about certain gang initiations in which the prospective member has to shoot a scad student, and she also warned me about numerous rapings; telling me which streets to avoid, and to carry a hard blunt object like a Mag-lite. It seemed odd to me that the “weekly student updates” rarely mention things other than muggings. Also, we aren’t allowed to post things around that haven’t been approved by student services. it’s as if they are trying to avoid any student-organized meetings. What are they trying to hide. I think they own part of the savannah police, as well. The scad security is a joke. I’ve gotten into turner house by flashing my driver’s liscence. They just glance to see if you flashed something at all…
