We are not above rumors here at blogsavannah which is why we are comfortable letting you know that Poppy’s Bar and Grill on Broughton Street is closed. And by closed we mean ‘out of business’. Sure the beer neons are still lit up and the bar still looks stocked. But it is with great confidence that we can say they will no longer be offering up those texas toast bunned delights. Let’s face it. No one was ever in there. Even on gamedays this past college football season the bar was almost empty. So, the question remains? What will fill its grave? Another burger joint? What about tapas? Is there any genre of dining that Savannah needs still? I wonder……
