The South hits the stands

The South magazine

A friend of mine at Parkers Convenient Store got word that the new edition of The South magazine is in. He tells me it is a double cover issue and has some pretty cool articles including one on Michael Brown, the developer of the much disputed Drayton Tower, Santa Claus, Georgia, and some of the ‘men of the cloth’ in our fair city. I specifically asked about the pictures as I think the magazine is known for their photography and he simply told me I wouldn’t be dissapointed. Now I know for a fact that their release party is tonight but I have no idea where. Past ones have been at Pirates House and Conchhouse. Please let me know if you know or if you see the magazine on the stands at a store near you.

You can find out more about The South magazine by visiting their site.

I am an intern with the South Magazine and I am pretty sure that no magazine has come out anywhere in Savannah just yet. The writer of this article should check his sources before posting something like this on a public site.

Typically, interns don’t know what they’re talking about… the south website has been updated, I’m sure it’s out today.

Ouch! Score 1 for Parkers.

The party was at the old club vero last night. I only know that because I saw a South writer at Starbucks. And this morning I picked up a copy (along with my Kona blend) from…none other than…PARKERS!!!!!!!!! There you have it Mr. Harrington.

The only people who don’t like The South seem to be stuffy old blue-bloods who think Savannah Magazine hangs the moon. I got news for them. The South has the cool factor nailed down. Even with its occasional typo and sketchy copy, it is altogether hip, edgy and fun. I tell people visiting Savannah all the time to pick up a copy if they really want to find where all the neato places are. If this sounds like an advertisement - well - my check must still be in the mail, ’cause I didn’t get it yet.

I think that magazine is great; and I would love to contribute to it if needed. I ordered a subscription today!
