What are those crazy car-bike things?

Pedicabs

Maybe you have seen something like it in Singapore? Maybe you call it a rickshaw. Perhaps you even thought it was a modern day surry…without the fringe, of course. It isn’t though. You see, Savannah is unique in many ways. One of them being the presence of the Pedicab. You know what I am talking about. It is those car-bike things driven by often underfed looking college kids with muscular legs and plenty of stamina. They can often be found at one of the corners of Bull and Broughton just kind of hanging, talking, reading, or listening to their iPods, seemingly waiting for their next overweight, overwalked tourist fare. What is so cool about them though is that they don’t charge. Sure. This could be dangerous. However, they work for tips and I am sure that when one is ilfted from his tired feet and treated the cool breeze of Broughton by bike on a warm afternoon….well, the tip is probably pretty nice. So, I want to dedicate this post to those kids that work so hard to bring us a bit of authentic charm and quality peddling service. If you want to schedule a tour or just a ride around the park, visit Savannah Pedicabs!
