We will be coming down from DC to Savannah the weekend of October 27-29 to look for housing. We’re looking for getting the most out of our money, ideally, in a two bedroom house rental, or private-ish apartment with a washer & dryer (and of course, AC). We’d like to rent for awhile before we buy to check out the area, market, etc. We’d LOVE a backyard, and something in Ardsley Park, if available. We would take a one bedroom in Ardsley Park too, if need be to stay within our price range (between $600 - $800 if possible). Since we’re moving to Savannah to save up some money to buy, it would be nice to be in a cheaper place, even if it has to be smaller, to start out with. We’re not against moving to other areas, as long as they are affordable and joggable communities.
Additional information: We have a canoe and kayak, which is why we would enjoy a private yard, in able to store them. I’ve heard Ardsley Park is a nice young area, and I like jogging after work. We have a very walkable lifestyle here in DC, which I’m not sure we’re going to have in Savannah, but I would like to try and be somewhere like that.
