Pirates Fest

AAARRRGGHHHHH, matie! Ahoy there! This weekend is the 2nd Annual Tybee Island Pirate Fest. Last year’s festival was apparantly a huge success with over 3,000 weekend attendees. What does one do at a Pirates Fest though? Whatever it is, more than 35 communities on the East Coast alone celebrate in some way the raping, pillaging, looting, and abuse of other people, other sailors, and other lands. Interesting. Whatever the case the festival weekend encompasses several events which include: A mock Pirate Invasion and Party, Parade, Costume Contest, Adult and Children’s Treasure Hunts, and our Thieves Market which features arts and crafts, food, games and live music. We aren’t sure what the cost is but we are pretty sure you can just beat the gatekeeper with the blunt end of a sword and walk right in! Oh, did we mention food is eat all you can grab! See you there, landlubbers!
